That one is USBC but read the specs, it's still only a 5V/2A USBC. That's only 10 watts total, now split that 8 ways to charge 8 batteries at the same time and your at a slow trickle. I'm curious to know how fast it charges with it only working with 10 watts. This one has a single 20watt USBC output which just by itself is twice the wattage than 5V/2A or all those 8 individual slots can provide combined. This one using a 120V AC plug isn't as convenient as USBC but its a lot more power on tap to work with when your trying to charge 8 batteries at the same time. This one can also charge 9V batteries.

I have Sanyo Eneloops that I bought from Amazon nearly 15 years ago. I only ever used them in my wireless mouse. 4 batteries total, the pairs get swapped out when they are low on charge (mouse alerts when voltage is low). They still go for 3-4 months between charges. While I haven't done an actual capacity test, the fact that I still get the same runtime today than I did 15 years ago is a testament to their quality.

Also, I totally understand trying to defend the deal you posted, but let's not spread misinformation.

Sure, the EBL batteries use the same battery chemistry as Panasonic's Eneloops, but they are in no way, shape, or form comparable. Project Farm did a discharge test on multiple NiMH batteries over one year.

I generally assume my batteries will take over night to charge in any charger. I just swap out fresh charged ones for them. With this many spots you can just leave a bunch in it and swap dead ones in. You shouldn't ever need to worry about how fast it is.

This is a really good brand for cheap, good rechargeable batteries. Theyre not 2800mah tho, they test around 22-2500

I don't know about this specific charger, but the batteries are very decent. Theyre not 2800mah, they test around 2400mah, which is very good still..give them a try

Be aware, EBL batteries are not very good at detecting dV/dT termination (this is the way a 'smart' charger knows 'how' to stop) in a GOOD charger. dV/dT needs a charge current of ~ 1/3-1/2 of the capacity.
This charger is WAY under that. Unless it has a TIMED termination it may not stop charging. Low discharge batteries do not take well to continuous charging.
So...I consider this a dubious, if cheap, package.

I and most others would agree that Eneloop are the best but the best come at a premium price and if you actually use them on a regular basis, I call BS on you having them for over 10 years and they are still 90% capacity. They aren't magic. They are very high quality batteries , but they still use the exact same NiMH (nickel-metal-hydride) chemistry that most everybody else uses. Did you actually do a capacity test when they were new and then 10 years later or you just guestimating capacity?

Agreed. I have a ridiculous amount of EBL batteries and I've never once gotten one hit higher than 24xx mAh.I have no complaints about the quality of the battery, just that EBL should be honest with their customers.

I'll throw in my usual spiel. Know what you're getting. If you use them for things that you know you will be ok with lower capacity then they're fine. Things like kids toys, remote controls, video game controllers, things like that. I have a deadbolt that auto locks and this is great for that.

Just make sure you know what you're getting into
