heads up that this is v1, not v2. It relies heavily on cloud subscription b/c of no local storage (no video history without sub). It also has a separate chime to plug in vs. wiring to the existing doorbell.

It's good if you only care about livestream though, otherwise I'd say hold out for v2.

You are never getting v2 for $18.40, I have been using the true V1 the original original and it's been hit or miss, time to replace it with this and hope it records better. I was hoping for one with the on SD option but at this price, it's pretty good deal honestly, and I am paying for their unlimited subscription. If I can find the newer one on sale, I can always move this anywhere, with 12V transformer or even plug in adapter these can be mounted anywhere, does not have to be doorbell.
Wait, it does have SD card, you mean you can't access the SD recording?? Doesn't sound right.
Bought one, nevertheless...

Home Depot. Wyze, etc have V2 for $60. Would advise getting that since you can add an SD card and skip the subscription required with this one.

It's a V2, right there in the description:

Where do you see that? I see "Wyze Video Doorbell v2 gives you 2K video and local micro. SD storage, so you can capture every moment in more detail than ever."

Another warning is that VIPOutlet is using some weird USPS shipping option for a lot of these Wyze cameras - it takes two weeks, and the tracking information is sketchy (USPS says VIPOutlet never gave them the package, and then suddenly a week and a half later it scans in your state).

During the purchase it showed me Fedex. It might be based on the destination that it shifts to USPS. VIPOutlet has always used Fedex shipping to me. You're right about not getting any updates for days, and all of a sudden it may be out of delivery.

So if I was a knowledgeable thief and you don't pay for the subscription, I just take the SD card out of the unit after stealing your boxes (or rip off the entire camera). I'd argue you should probably have the subscription if you're going to use one of these for security.

I have the doorbell v2 currently and use the microsd storage option. The device itself works well. I'm not happy with the software though, it frequently fails to load video from the sd card, though on retries it will work. Also, the skip forward and back are locked in at 30 seconds each. So there's no good way to jump through time to find something you may have missed. The slider is ok, but inaccurate and also suffers from the failure to load from SD. I'm looking to move away from wyze no matter how inexpensive the devices are.
