I went from nord to mullvad to proton. At the time, nord didn't support WireGuard but I think they do now. When my 2 year sub expires with proton I might go back to nord if I can get it this cheap. If money is no object, mullvad was possibly the best in my opinion but only because they have zero data on you. You can get a gift card on Amazon and they give you an account number and you just load time. No credit card info. No username, or email. But they also don't do discounts.

I still prefer having one, but I've noticed the same issue with Reddit.Whenever I go there I have to disable Nord.

Use the wireguard protocol, and you won't even notice the overhead. Yes, there is a percentage loss, but not much. Openvpn is very noticeable.

you won't notice the difference? Without VPN = 125MB/sec (gigabit). With NordVPN = 55MB/sec.

I definitely notice the difference.

Does this allow only certain applications to go through VPN like it does on phones, I use tailscale for some apps to connect back to office or home, but at the same time I may need to use VPN to connect to servers overseas or watch netflix as overseas accounts.

Do they still block when you use a server as same country as your country? I was overseas and the ISPs would not let me visit some US sites even like Home Depot, Lowes, etc.. So weird, so I thought those website would be blocked not because it's VPN but because the VPN country you are using does not allow those websites.
