Lenovo Idea Tab is a budget 11 inch Android tablet that stands out for its sharp 2.5K 90Hz screen, 8GB of RAM, and bundled Tab Pen and folio case. It gets praise for media use, with good picture quality, solid battery life, and a build that feels better than typical budget tablets. The main drawbacks are heavy preinstalled bloatware, sponsored apps, and reports of sluggish performance, with some setup storage eaten by Android and bundled apps. A few comments also flag slow charging, a weak case stand, and no clear support for external displays over USB C.

  • The screen delivers good media viewing with a 90Hz refresh rate and anti-fingerprint 2.5K touch panel.

  • The device can handle streaming use well, with solid battery life reported during near-max brightness.

  • The preinstalled apps can be reduced during setup, and most bloatware reportedly can be removed.

  • The tablet includes a Tab Pen and Folio Case in the box, which reduces accessory shopping needs.

  • The tablet can feel sluggish or laggy, which makes it a poor fit for smooth multitasking.

  • Preinstalled bloatware and sponsored apps can be excessive, and some reports say certain apps cannot be uninstalled.

  • Netflix reportedly fails to work in picture-in-picture mode, and troubleshooting did not resolve the issue.

  • External display support is unclear, and one buyer could not confirm DP Alt Mode over USB-C for connecting monitors or TVs.

How does the stylus compare (if at all) to that on the Galaxy Tab FE?

I bought this a week or two ago. It's GARBAGE! Sluggish and Netflix doesn't work in PIP mode. I googled fixes for that and it's a known issue with these models. I tried all recommended changes like putting it in developer mode, nothing fixed the issue. This means you can't multitask with Netflix in a little box while you browse. It's being returned.

I would never recommend a Lenovo product, especially a tablet. Read the reviews, and understand why this is discounted.

How did you debloat?
I have the FIFA edition of this tablet, 8gb ram and 128gb storage. I have about 100gb free right now, I think the main issue for me was not double checking the apps that get installed on setup, lots of games. There were a handful of "sponsored" apps that came installed, as well as a couple of Lenovo ones. I think you can un-select a lot of the games during the initial device setup, aside from Instagram being impossible to un-install. With the advertised storage never being the accurate amount with devices, and I think the current edition of Android taking up around 14GBs of storage, not too bad.

Looking for a replacement tablet for our Galaxy tab s7. My son is 11, can this run roblox along with youtube and/or video chat? Probably go with one off ebay unless somebody can talk me in to this one. That s7 is a beast but he broke the screen, it didnt crack but its like cracked underneath the screen if that makes sense?

I received this exact tablet from work and I use it daily for the past 6 months, and honestly its really good. Yes it comes with a lot of added bloatware, but you can remove pretty much all of them - unlike Samsung and Amazon tablets. It only has one app called Lenovo Vantage that shares device info/updates, but you can ignore it, It's not intrusive.

Built and battery are really good. Screen size and clarity is more than good enough for media consumption.

My only nitpick is it has a App drawer at the bottom of the screen that you can't disable, I'm not sure if that's a lenovo thing or if that's how current android runs on tablets. You eventually get used to it and it also goes away once you launch an app. The included case also added half an inch of with for the pen holder, i didnt like that so i purchased a $10 slimmer case.

Its probably the best budget tablet I've used. I WAY prefer it over budget Samsung and fire tablets that I've had previously.

Have you tried downloading Canta from Google Play? Recently used this to debloat a Moto G phone and now it's 10x faster.

I couldn't tell from a quick keyword search, but it looks like this doesn't support any external displays / DP alt mode over USB C. My current tablet was fairly good value for the money but supporting additional displays turned out to be the killer feature I didn't realize I needed at time of purchase. Being able to hook up to TVs, external monitors, VR glasses, projectors, or whatever else is pretty useful. My phone has picture out but for various reasons that's a worse solution for me.

I bought it, tried it out for a couple of days and have already sent it back for a refund. It's true about the bloatware, just unreal how much of it and so laggy. Save yourself the hassle and just ignore this one.

I purchase the $250 plus version. The amount of bloatware is INSANE.
