Community Reviews
Kingroon PLA is positioned as a budget filament that can print reliably and deliver solid value, especially for everyday use and high speed setups when the right profile is chosen. The black PLA and related PLA and PETG spools are described as working well across large amounts of use, with strong results on functional parts and no tangled spools. Color quality is a recurring tradeoff, with some shades looking less vibrant than pricier brands. Quality control can also be uneven, with occasional clogging, poor bed adhesion, or thicker spots on a spool, so drying and tuning may be needed.
Common Questions (5)
Kingroon PLA can print reliably for long runs, with multiple users reporting zero issues across 20+ kg and another saying a 7 kg batch printed just like any other PLA. A few spools can be problematic, so it's a good value pick if you're willing to tolerate occasional QC variation.
Some spools can be inconsistent: reported issues include clogging every layer or two, poor bed adhesion, and spots wider than 1.75 mm that suggest QC problems. Other spools print normally, so the risk is mainly batch-to-batch variation rather than a universal failure.
The colors are generally usable, but they are not as vibrant as some other brands. The orange in particular is described as muted, while the other base colors are reported as plenty vibrant.
Drying it for about a day can help if prints are acting up. That can improve first-layer and extrusion behavior when moisture is contributing to sticking or clogging issues.
The High Speed versions are the safer choice for fast printers, and filament that can handle around 200 mm/s is preferred. Standard low-speed filament can produce poor infill at very high speeds, so matching the filament rating to your printer matters.

I use AI to tune my slicer settings
I didn't care about filament print speeds when all I had was an Ender 3, because it was impossible for that to exceed what the filament could handle and still have good geometry on all exterior sides of the print. Today, with a high speed printer, I've seen what happens when you try to print infill at 300mm/sec with filament that's only rated for 40-60mm speeds (the infill starts looking like swiss cheese), so I just don't want to buy anything that can't handle a minimum of 200mm/sec (either by official rating or user feedback that a filament still works well beyond the stated range).
For me it's mixed results across any brand/color.
I don't like this cheaper color mix. Everything else is more expensive.
For reference, I am mostly printing with toolchangers. (U1 and C5Pro)
