It's a very good game. I didn't think I would like it as much as I did. I stopped playing every other game when I started it. From what I read, it initially didn't have an in game map so I am glad I waited to play it.

I picked this up over the weekend for 40 on Steam. It is super pretty graphics wise. The storyline seems kinda dumb so far, but if you love a melee style action game this will appeal to you.

Story is very dumb and doesn't get better, played this, finished it, can't believe the price is still so high for it. $10 tops IMO.

Did you ever heard or read about the novel Journey to the West, educate yourself first, this wasn't your typical slap on the paper story for the production, this one had an actual foundation.

To me it's more god of war alike rather than soul like. BMW's storyline is as dark as GoW's, but it's more hidden and less obvious that gods are evil.

I was think $20 by BF 2027 since the new one just came out. I am cheap, I got a video game backlog that I only buy once it hits a certain price. Now try to find me a discount on nintendo games lol

What was your favorite part? The story/ lore? Or the gameplay?

I like hard games by default but I liked the story the most. Some parts made me ask AI the backstory of and I learned how well they used lore from the book to adapt to game characters. Like the side mission with the dead fox and the silent monk.

There's a Chinese book called journey to the west (basically an epic like the Odyssey but for the Chinese) where wukong becomes one of the gods and the most powerful of them like you see in the intro to this game.
But this game is called black myth because the author's intentions to make "what if the gods were actually bad"

After each chapter, you get a video which tells you the backstory of the enemies you fought so you understand how the bosses of that chapter (who are good in the book) got corrupted and became evil.

after each video, I asked AI to summarize what they meant in the videos and asked questions about the characters to understand more of the lore. It was quite fun to learn and interesting to realize why for example the first boss is a black bear in a map full of fire.

Thank you for your take. I'm the opposite, I can only play a couple of games on "normal" lol. I generally play for the story. This one is def on my list.
