I have this exact model. I always recommend it to people who find themselves packing both drinks and meals/snacks frequently. Especially for camping trips. You lose a fair bit of drink storage due to the drawer. If you don't utilize the food drawer much, there are way better coolers for the money that cater to drinks only.

As for its specific use, this thing is awesome. Food and drinks stay cold for days. I can load it up for a camping weekend with 1 bag of ice and be good for the whole weekend without adding ice.

There's a YouTuber who reviewed dozens of coolers and, in this size category, Ninja Frostvault was one of the best for ice retention

Ya the ice retention really surprised me given the drawer being a "break" in the seal. No issues holding ice even when opening and closing the drawer frequently. They did a great job balancing the insulation to allow the drawer to cool, but not so much that it affects the ice retention. That was my biggest worry getting the cooler.

EDIT: I did also want to add it's a pretty heavy cooler. If your space allows it, this wheeled version is worth it over the 45qt with just handles.
