This propane torch is best for fast outdoor fire starting, weed burning, and quick searing jobs. It lights charcoal, fire pits, fireplaces, bonfires, and cobwebs easily, and the one touch max fire mode delivers a huge flame with plenty of wow factor. That same power makes it too aggressive for delicate cooking like crème brûlée, and the torch needs a propane tank because it does not come with one. Reliability concerns also come up, including weak igniters, tricky ignition, leaks, and a few breakage reports.

I'm looking to melt some rubber pellets when seal coat my driveway. I can probably put the pellets down first, then start the torch, then add more as needed... any idea how long one of those small propane containers will last, say on medium speed?
Have you done this before? I have no experience just wondering about the rubber catching fire.

Anyway, you might want to get one of the torches with a longer handle. I use mine for clearing weeds. This torch may have you stooping over while working on your driveway.

Mine came today. The igniter doesn't seem to work but you can still fire it up with a match, lighter, etc. I am gonna hang onto it

I had some issues with ignition initially but later figured out. in my case I need to turn the knob on top slightly to let the propane flow then use the ignition to light it up. Pull the trigger would open up the flow and very difficult to light

Wouldn't recommend this at any price. I ordered one of these on a deal a few months ago. It broke after only a handful of uses. The valve suddenly wouldn't close one day and we couldnt shut the torch off. Honestly pretty dangerous product.
Thanks, other reviewers say the same.

It seems like this brand is trying to expand from meat thermometers to all kinds of grilling/barbecuing accessories. The thermometers show some design consistency across similar models like they did at least some of the work in-house, but all the other stuff looks cheaply sourced from random manufacturers. I'll pass.

I bought one. Flame is comically large. Except for the wow factor, flame is too big for creme brulee unless you are making food for a very large number of people.

Got this when this went on sale for the same price. I've been using it to start my fireplace, bbq and such, the max fire mode always wow unsuspecting bystanders, and probably the closest thing you could get to a a legal flame thrower. Too powerful to use for cooking though. I'd probably buy another one for shit and giggle.
Awesome this is what I want

These are pretty cool. Worth it for sure at $24 ish used it to start a bonfire in seconds. Also seared some steaks with it but I prefer my portable infrared sear grill for steaks.
