I bought one of these to use for a media center PC but there was so much noise spewed out of the HDMI from the power supply that I had to return it. Bad filtering.

There are some exceptions. LPCAMM2 uses LPDDR5/LPDDR5X DRAM and are still swappable modules, like on the Framework laptop.

You can be technically right, but still wrong. Devices using CAMM2 / LPCAMM2 will explicitly state as much. If the specs say LPDDR, it's soldered, as they said.

On topic, great brand, bad price.

This LPDDR5/5X versions are th resul of the Ram shortages. This is not just Minisforum but oher chinese manufacturers also, at least for their 16GB models, using soldered LPDDR5X modules, which probably they can source cheaper than the normal DDR5 memory. Only the 32GB models and the Barebones are now having upgradable normal SO-DIMM sockets.
