I got one of these kind of things last week from a different sale and while they aren't "Arctic" like they advertise, surprisingly they actually really do work for cooling you down when you're trying to get to sleep. I honestly was impressed and have recommended these. ( Not necessarily this deal or brand, but that concept) to my friends.

I agree, I love my cooling blanket. I have a king bed but dh wasn't a fan of the feel of the blanket, so I purchased another, twin size, for my side. Was too short for my liking, but kept it until I found another deal on a Bedsure Twin XL, which is PERFECT for half a king.
Ftr, I sleep with a fan blowing directly on my. With a regular sheet on, I'd wake up hot multiple times throughout the night. With a cooling blanket, rarely wake up hot, but it's not 100%...

Bit confused about the functionality, this keeps u cooler vs a regular blanket or does it keep u cooler vs no blanket?

I've been getting non-stop ads for something like this in Facebook that's like $200-300 and I wonder what on earth is the difference besides markup.

I also want to know from a thermodynamics perspective how these can actually do anything without their own active cooling or airflow. Is it about the perception of heat against the skin?

I bought on of these on a previous deal a few days ago and using the term "blanket" is a bit of a stretch.
I know it's supposed to be cooler, but it's closer to the consistency of a sheet.
It kind of reminded me of the blankets that airlines used to have on domestic flights.
It's soft and comfortable, but feels a lot different from a typical blanket.

I've only had it for a couple of days, so I haven't gotten to use it enough to determine how much I like it, but it's worth the $10 that I paid.

I take mine out (60x80) every summer when comforters are in the closet. These will shrink so do not use heat in the dryer. Either low heat or air tumble is fine. For $10 I'll grab another for the couch or dog.
