This garage door screen turns an open garage into a breezy bug barrier, with enough airflow for car work and even a casual hangout space. The black mesh is easier to see through than lighter mesh, and it can help keep the garage cooler while protecting heat sensitive items. The setup may need reinforcement, since the adhesive strip and push pins can pull down over time, and strong wind can open the magnetic seam. It is also not ideal to drive through, and the mesh can scratch a car.
The screen can keep mosquitoes out while still allowing airflow during garage work.
The screen can be used like a 3-season room setup with outdoor furniture in garages.
The screen can help reduce summer heat in a garage and protect heat-sensitive items.
The black mesh can be easier to see through than a light-colored mesh due to light reflection.
The magnetic seam can open in strong wind, letting insects into the garage.
The screen can scratch a car if it contacts the vehicle.
The glue velcro strip setup can start pulling down after about a year, requiring added screws.
Cutting the screen can make reattaching the thick Velcro band impractical, so folding may be easier.

Not sure. I see these on so many houses in the Rochester, NY area. Full setups with couches, rugs, coffee tables, etc. They like chillin in the garage and watching what goes on in the neighborhood I guess.
no idea on the Western NY thing... seems odd, but i haven't spend much time out there. here in Eastern NY, i've never seen one.
