This brings up an important topic for paddleboarding in rivers. You need a different style of leash that you can release. People get the ankle leash caught up in the sticks and trees at the rivers edge and get pulled under. Also wear your GD life jacket.

You should always wear a life vest, there's some that remain flat like a shirt until you pull an emergency cord.
The guy that drowned was in Florida and that day got an early unexpected king tide so the current was extra strong.
People perish driving to work everyday

A guy was in a car accident today not wearing his seatbelt and didn't make it. Play it safe and also never get in a vehicle again.
