As someone who bought budget "hiking" boots I would caution anyone against buying these cheaper boots and actually hiking in them. If you want to use it for cutting grass or maybe doing some work here and there that's fine. But for actual hiking. Use caution. Having your feet damaged or callused from poorly made boots can be a nightmare.

I was desperate for some shoes a few years ago and decided to buy a pair of Ozark Trail boots similar to these, especially after reading a review from a hiking blog about how good they were. I don't do a lot of hiking (I used to take smaller trails once a year on my annual trip to the Smokies). They started to come apart pretty quickly. Maybe a month. It was short enough that I was able to return them to the store. Although the same could be said or some Skechers I bought a couple of years ago which was another nightmare story dealing with customer service and me being out more money only for them to refuse replacement and almost refusing to return my shoes. I'll never get either brand, again.

these were delivered yesterday. I bought a half size up after reading a post in the walmart comment section. It was the right call. they fit great and appear to be well made. well see how they perform and last. they are stamped "waterproof" right on the shoe so we'll see about that. At this price, I think it's a great buy.
