Is it decent for the price? Was thinking of getting something better but I really don't game so much anymore, really just want a dual monitor setup for productivity

IPS is better, but a bit more. Also, at 27" flat makes more sense. https://slickdeals.net/f/19896966

That is definitely a preference thing IMO. I much prefer VA over IPS and OLED over all of them. I will give up a bit of color accuracy to get better black levels, but again just a preference. OP, I think that would do fine for productivity. I think if you had regret it would be on the resolution more than the tech behind the panel (unless you buy a TN panel 🙂). I have an MSI 34" that has done me well for many years. Good luck on your search. Edit: Also on curved vs flat. I own 4 curved and 4 flat and like all 8 just fine, but the curved slightly more. Not enough to say you need one or the other unless you go for a wider monitor, in which case I would say curved is worth it.

For a dual monitor setup, it's flat and IPS... I've sold hundreds, the black levels on newer IPS panels is not an issue, viewing angles for VA still are. Maybe you missed the dual monitor part, having a mismatched 27" on the side and curved would be a weird choice, especially if you ever wanted to rotate it on a VESA arm.

Yeah, flat does make more sense for dual monitors now that I think about it. I might up my budget to 1440 over 1080 since my laptop is stronger than I thought and I'll game at least a little bit. Appreciate you both

I have 2 dual curved VA setups, and one dual flat IPS setup. I personally prefer the dual curved VA setups. My main IPS are both newer and black levels still don't hold a candle. As IPS panels have gotten better with black levels so have VA so find there is still a large gap for those who are not a fan of grayish blacks. But these types of things are personal preferences, so no real right or wrong in someone's setup, just preference. Edit..,no doubt if I was rotating or even using one in portrait mode I would choose flat. Curve would make zero sense in my opinion here, but have seen a guy with a huge curved OLED who had his in portrait mode and loved it so to each his own.

We're not discussing your use case. Black levels matter for the large living room TV for movies, not a 27" gaming monitor, where you lose out on all the rest. These VAs are curved to band-aid the horrible viewing angle issue, and ghost like crazy. IPS has been the superior tech from the start and for decades now, VA was the step up from TN. You're also omitting what panels you have, again I've sold hundreds. I just tire of the personal preference shtick. https://youtu.be/-T9svRUx9mI?si=1mJX9qHgEZLOnQ2I

Dude, it is just personal preferences, and you selling hundreds doesn't change that. Just like the fact I have installed thousands doesn't either.

Installed thousands? Sorry, didn't realize I was talking to an IT pleb, won't make that mistake again.
