Accurate. Been there done that, would not purchase again because the rainfly does not cover the screened area. Other than that (but that was a BIG deal when it rained), it was a decent tent.

The screened vestibule area on some of these is absolutely worthless. Wasted material and complications for nothing more than a tiny screened area. Doesn't offer rain protection and actually allows water to pool.

It keeps the bugs out. We have zero bugs in our tent thanks to our "both doors can't be open at the same time, kids" rule, which is the first tent I've ever experienced that. You're right, the vestibule didn't stay dry, but it has a mesh connection to the main tent so it doesn't pool up against the tent. And I've been packing my camp supplies in a tote lately, so that's what keeps my stuff dry.
