Product Details:
  • Crafted from premium CR-V alloy steel and heat-treated for extra toughness, this impact socket set handles high-impact torque without damaging. The black phosphate finish shields against water, oil, and rust
  • 6-point socket design increases contact area with fasteners for a stronger grip. This reduces wear, avoids rounding of corners, and ensures bolts stay locked in place—even when using high-torque impact wrenches

Nice set for a DIYer. I like the black socket sets over the chrome sets. I have so many chrome sets from the 1990s that got rusty from moisture.
It was too much to get the rust off, I ended up getting these.
All I do, change the battery, fluid changes, brakes, rotors, spark plugs, filters and rotating tyres.

The black ones rust much faster in my experience. Try to keep them dry.

3/8" drives are generally good up to about 15 mm. Most people will wear out the ratchet long before socket failure. I prefer the versatility of Harbor Freight roto head ratchets. 1/4" up to 30 ft-lbs, 3/8" up to 60 ft-lbs, and 1/2" up to 120 ft-lbs. Use a 3/4" breaker bar or oxy torch for frozen fastener.

Vevor is so hit and miss quality wise, I gave up on them. They don't manufacture any of the products they sell. They're a China based Harbor Freight wannabe, although apparently very well financed. Their business is based on buying cancelled contracts, manufacturing overruns, seconds, and the like from Chinese manufacturers. The problem is that quality is total crapshoot, and products that need replacement, or parts in the future is also a crapshoot. Customer service is likewise a crapshoot. I sent 4 emails for a defective that was just past the 30 day Amazon return window. No reply for over a month, then out of the blue I got a reply nearly 2 months later that a replacement was on the way. That was several months ago and nothing ever arrived.

I typically take my rag I wiped my hands on when changing oil, etc and wipe down my black impact sockets. Helps keep them from rusting.

These look almost identical to the sunnex set. Just got the steel Jerry cans from them, wasn't expecting much for a pair shipped under $50 but they are impressive. Harbor Freight may soon start having some competition.
