The Ninja CREAMi XL Deluxe stands out as a strong pick for protein and specialty frozen treats, especially low carb or keto style ice cream. It can make multiple servings per container, and the XL format is praised for turning high protein milk, monk fruit, allulose, whey, or yogurt based mixes into customizable desserts. Cleaning is manageable when the machine is rinsed right away and dried vertically, though the blade area is still awkward and the unit is very loud. Refurb units also draw caution because of short warranty coverage and reports of early failures, so the warranty matters.

I bought this from Woot 2 years ago and it still works, it was basically brand new.

Very important with these, make sure the ice cream has time to settle before putting it in the freezer, it must be completely flat while frozen or else your blade will eventually break

Seems like you need to eat a lot of ice cream to make this worthwhile. What are you doing with this on a regular basis?

I use ultra filtered high protein milk from Aldi's with monkfruit and allulose. Sometimes with sugar free chocolate or pistachio pudding mix.

My friend lost a lot of weight recently, she told me she would make like protein ice cream and make it healthy by adding stuff like whey protein, cottage cheese/yogurt, strawberries, Splenda sweetener instead of sugar. She just loves eating ice cream at night and doing this helped her so much.

This maker has a bad design making cleaning impossible, reports of mold forming in several places that are impossible to open and come in contact with the mix, look on reddit. Wish I never bought it.
To be clear this maker model is no easier or harder to clean than the other Creami models. They are all equally bad in this respect.

If you spray the machine well after each use before ice cream can dry out/solidify it seems not to be a problem, but lord help you if you don't.

I would avoid this and buy a new one instead. We went through two refurbished ones from woot, both broke, and both times woot cs was a pain to work with. Fool me once...

These take up too much kitchen space for how rarely it got used. Gave mine to a friend. It was fun once or twice.

To those thinking of buying this, know that it is extremely loud.

we use ours for healthy protein ice cream instead of shakes , I have had it for about 4 years and we go through stages of frequency im use , but average 2-4 pints a week so many saved calories in desserts and a great summer breakfast in florida, i would buy again instantly if it broke

In for 1; been wanting to try, and I like the price point (and figure I'll prioritize using it during first 90 days, in case I get a WooT lemon), and will risk it being merely a(nother) dust-gatherer. Some stuff I insist on using our CC executive club membership for, but @ $100, this isnt one of em.

Love ours. We have the xl and it definitely makes 4+ servings in each container. I clean each use and air dry. No mold. Yes loud buts only like 2 minutes. We make protein ice cream with allulose or monk fruit. With what they charge for keto and low carb ice cream, it's a money savor. If just doing regular ice cream, I can't say it would be worth it but for specialty ice cream, it's a buy.

I made the mistake of purchasing a refurb from woot. In the Winter. It sat for a while before it's 1st use. Maybe 10 uses in and it started smoking with regular use. Woot refused to replace/refund and so did ninja. I would not recommend this product without a good warranty.

I have had good luck with refurb stuff from Woot. If I didn't already have one I would buy one.

This got me thinking. I think I'll make some to freeze tonight.
