Reviews and pictures show these to be any but "heavy duty." The shelves look to be maybe 1/4" thick fiberboard, and reviews say the metal is likewise flimsy. The product description holds this clue:
The shipping weight is 21.8 pounds with an item weight of 19.7 pounds
There is no way 20 pounds of wood chips and tinfoil spread out over 12 cubic feet is holding up 1900 pounds.

I have this shelf, different color, same manufacturer. It is flimsy. But once it's in position, it is adequate. I wouldn't utilize it for storage of heavy items. There is another version with a metal shelf by the same manufacturer that is considerably stronger, I've also purchased from AliExpress.

It's definitely still worth getting depending on your use case. Random shed or garage storage. Hobby room. Etc. It'll be fine. It is particle board type material, but there is a cross bar in the center and it is supported along the edges. I wouldn't suggest ever getting it wet.

are the Costco greenmade plastic shelves sturdier than this? my use case is nothing crazy heavy, just garage storage.
