Your RTX 5090 Deal Lover is back with another post!
Simply go here https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp...91wjaa-aba- There are no coupon to use for this one but it's actually GREAT DEAL and you cannot customize it.
- There is a labor day specific coupon for GAMERS25 but it does not apply here and not necessary because this price is 35% OFF $7000 MSP!
- Don't forget to stack your CC stuff.
Don't have EPP? It's still a GREAT DEAL for today and the situation we are in.
Compared to the previous Ultra 265K deal these are the following differences for $4560! Fantastic upgrade price if you look at the comparison and if you needed the extra config.
- Windows 11 Pro
- Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 processor 285K (instead of 265K)
- 64 GB memory (instead of 16GB)
- 2 TB SSD storage ( instead of 16GB)
Of course, you still get this - NVIDIA GeForce RTXâ„¢ 5090 GPU
Just note these differences between AMD and Intel variants but keep in mind that AMD Variants this time has no extra discount nor is Ultra 265K config worth it right now. So hop to it if you wanted Ultra 285 for extra productivity workloads and if you needed 64GB and more storage anyway!
Why I like AMD over Intel (Core Ultra 7 265K) on this HP Platform?- Front I/O & Headers: Includes a functional front-panel USB-C port and a dedicated motherboard USB-C header.
- Power Efficiency: Operates at a conservative 65W CPU base power target vs. the 125W power draw on Intel.
- X3D Option for true Gaming edge: If you are a gaming, this is a no brainer to get 9800X3D
- Full Modular 1200W PSU: The Ultra 265K I got had non-modular design and only 12v6 adapter, not the old style 8-pin at all!
- Refreshed Case Design: Uses HP's updated chassis revision with subtle, cleaner front-panel aesthetics.

You should read some of the reviews, one is from October 2025 that Nay-sayers for this deal will mention.

This OMEN 45L is mainly a 5090 value play, with 64GB RAM, a 2TB SSD, and Windows Pro making it stronger for productivity and parts value than for a clean out of box gaming build. The RTX 5090 is the star, and the OEM card is described as mostly metal and comparable to other 5090s. The Intel version is the normal OMEN 45L, not the MAX model, and the RAM is 4x16. Caveats include HP's locked down BIOS, a non modular Intel PSU, and recurring cooling complaints that can require airflow or cooler changes.
Common Questions (5)
Yes, the advertised $4560 price appears to require EPP; without it, the checkout price can jump to $4799. EDU can work at the same price on some accounts, but it is not stackable with EPP.
The Intel variant is reported to ship with a non-modular PSU and only the 12VHPWR/12HPW connection, while the AMD variant is modular and includes 12VHPWR plus 8-pin cables and extra SATA leads. That matters if you plan to reuse parts or swap in an older GPU, which may need a splitter or adapter.
The RTX 5090 is reported to work in other PCs and is not BIOS-locked, so it can be reused if you shuck the system. The main resale caveat is that the GPU may be tied to the shipped PC for warranty purposes, and the motherboard/case are the least desirable parts to keep.
The system uses 4x16GB RAM, not 2x32GB. XMP may need to be enabled in BIOS to reach the rated 5600MHz, and the HP motherboard is described as fairly locked down beyond that.
This is the normal OMEN 45L, not the OMEN MAX 45L. That matters if you plan to keep the PC, since the normal 45L is the one associated with the older negative review and the shucking discussion.

Sometimes it comes back in stock.
Congrats to all who got in. You had almost 2 days to order
I am not seeing a replacement deal just yet. Sometimes there is a hidden deal not shown on website but usually not as great but may still be good enough
Intel Variant -- it's not a modular PSU and they only shipped with 12HPW to the PSU the last time I got an Intel version of this machine. I figured even the non-modular PSU would spare ables but NOPE.
AMD Variant - much better PSU, modular and has both 12HPW, 8-pins and extra SATA related cables. It's also a bit shorter in length instead of 7 inches!!! I think it's 6.5" but I forgot at this point.
Anyway, when I needed to use a old power GPU, I had to get a $14 splitter cable you can buy if you change the GPU for a 8-pin support GPU. Some of you may say this is end of the world but whatever, simple fixes once you have some real working experience with these machines.
Also, I've bought a couple of PSUs - new, they came with 12HPW and 8-pins, maybe what you are describing as 12HPW only is brand speciifc and power spercific. I bought 750kw and it came with both. Newer and higher wattage PSU will all definitely have 12HPW. I haven't bought a 850w or 1000w or 1200w. (cuz I get 1200w PSU for free so I never needed to buy one. lol)
I should add some of this info into the guide post I have. So many little nuggets to give to everyone who wants to play this 5090 game.
The premise of these deals I've been preaching is to sell the GPU can get a "free" / "low cost rental" PC. You can sell parts and keep GPU to lower cost though but that's not much.
Intel case is an is older gen in many ways - missing usb-c on the front panel too. Just crazy haha. Annoying issues but simple fixes I noted in the guide so shuckers know what to expect.
But I am getting the machine for the GPU and parts so I don't care as long as the $ make sense.

Amazon seems cheaper for some reason
Aliexpress cheapest.
I only tried one from Amazon that had 60+ reviews the rest had like 4 and I didn't want to risk it for my first one lol. I also use this on a "cheaper system at first. so basically I am using a 1200w on a system that didn't need 1200w PSU.
Decided to take a picture of the non-modular PSU for all on the only cables that comes it.
Here's a picture of the Intel PSU for others to see.
Only the 16pin 12vHPWR. and mobo + CPU, the rest of the cables are for SATA on the Intel Variant non-modular PSU.
May not matter to most of you but anyone trying to re-use parts should just be aware.
-your friendly neighborhood 5090-man
Forgot to mention you need the ARGB card in the omen case. The motherboard has no ARGB header. Make sure you plugged in the CPU fan and also the bottom two fan connectors on the motherboard otherwise it might complain that there is no fan. It does not seem to care about the upper right hand corner.
5000 super series cancelled https://en.gamegpu.com/news/zhele...x-50-super
I just shucked one of my old Omen last night, 5090 was long gone and finally got around to shuck it and added a 5080. Took a lot longer than expected to do so I am getting rusty!
- need to move the RGB board for the fans's RGB colors.
- need the power switch splicer, explained before and on the omen bog.
- need to move the wifi m2 card and the wires, I always have a usb-wireless so I used that when I initially forgot the move the wireless m2 card and wires. I always forget this.
- stupid god damn fan error was annoying but I figured it out. Seems to be fine as long as I popular the cpu fan and the 2 bottom fan slots too. wtf. lol. CPU fan was always in but AIO threw it off unless you also plugged in the bottom 2 fans it seems.
I actually kept the modular PSU and put in the Intel shittier PSU instead since this machine will only be using newer GPUs.
I tidied up the cables and brackets afterwards
