Soak proof = coated with forever chemicals. Eating hot food off these (or even worse microwaving on) is basically eating cancer.

Not really interested in defending a capitalistic corporation much less willing to believe everything they say, but here is a Q&A within the Target listing from 5 years ago.

Does this mean they are completely safe and ecological? Probably not. Are you willing to pay 2X+ for a product that checks every box you might dream up? It is what it is. I'm going to roll the dice.
