Be sure to check SD for the other sets on sale, if you need impacts there are some great deals and I would almost swear this is the same factory sunnex comes out of.

A seriously good impact socket set should not come with a ratchet. I started out with decent quality USA Craftsman chrome sockets, ratchets, and breaker bar. Bought 1/2" Harbor Freight impact socket set in 2007 because it comes with a 32mm socket for $12.

Can you link the HF one you bought? Does it have both deep and shallow sockets?

Have 12 and 6 point deep but don't bother with impact with fastener smaller than 19mm (usually crank bolt). My go to solutions for difficult jobs are 3/4" breaker bar or oxy torch. I want feedback from the material to avoid breakage.

Used shallow chrome sockects with an IR 1/2" air impact for decades without failure. Could be different if I was wrenching daily for a living. I prefer heavier socket if space permits...more momentum with an impact wrench.

Actually their impact sockets aren't that bad. I bought their 1/2" set and it's been my go to for impact stuff so I put my HF set in my van.

BUT. I do have MAJOR issues with their socket wrenches. I don't know if all Asian countries use the opposite setting for their forwards and reverse switch from US but what I received was opposite from my old craftsman and Gearwrench wrenches I bought few years back.

Actually this is looks like a decent set and that swivel sockets may come in handy someday. If sockets go up to 24mm and without wrench, this would be a perfect set for me. I am going to add it to the cart and see if there are better deals.

I have ratchets from Snap On, Proto, USA Craftsman, Home Depot, Lowes, and HF. The HF roto ratchet isn't the smallest or the strongest, but I use it 97% of the time because I can rotate the handle to reach tight space, and still have the head on the same axis of rotation.

I don't work on the cars or house enough to hoard tools but one of my old trusty Craftsman socket wrench started to show its age after 30+ years of heavy abuse. So I gave Gearwrench a try when it was on sale and it's working good for me so far. https://a.co/d/05yKaIj6

I may be just used to my old tools. I have some old wrenches like the Craftsman, Husky and that Gearwrench had same switch direction. But this brand 1/2" set I bought had opposite switch directions on its wrench. I don't know if it's just me but that is big NO to me.

The patents expired on most if not all of these ratchets. Therefore, you're paying the premium price based on marketing and quality control/tolerances. The metal should last forever if you limit the maximum load below the elastic limit. 30 ft-lbs for 1/4" ratchet, 60 ft-lbs for 3/8" ratchet, and 120 ft-lbs for 1/2" ratchet.
