One of the other forums I go to has one of these threads and I've been turned on to some good movies that other regulars just watched. I was kind of surprised not to see a similar thread here (at least not that I could find.) 
I just rewatched "Kinamand" - a cute drama about a Danish plumber who gets involved in an arranged marriage with a Chinese illegal. Good stuff (Netflix instant.)
So what have you folks watched recently?

Thor - I liked Dark World better. This wasn't as funny or interesting. And people were complaining about Dark Elves and how it reminded them of LOTR. Here you have Frost Giants which remind me of The Jolly Green Giant and frozen vegetables. We can probably all agree that originality in plots is somehwhere in the wearhorse (?) as the Ark of the Covenant.
Now we begin the waiting game to see if Thor and Captain America can elude the trilogy curse.
P***y Riot - On a personal level some of the material was offensive to me but I support them 150%. Generic Russian punk band, P***y Riot, has some members arrested while staging an improptu protest in a cathedral in Moscow. Film covers their vicious trial and it's all so mesmerizing. The sexism - particularly by the Russian Orthodox Church - is both sad and hilarious. "Deranged vaginas."
Beyond a Reasonable Doubt (1956) - To make a case against capital punishment, a newspaper publisher and his soon to be son-in-law hatch a plan that goes terribly awry. The twist in the film was one of the best I've ever seen - particularly considering I FF'd a bit to the end and was still surprised. With different leads and a longer run time it probably could've gotten an award.
"Bottle Rocket" – Wes Anderson - this is probably the one of his that I liked the most. Not badly made, but his brand of quirky characters just doesn't resonate with me. 2/5
"City of Life and Death / Nanjing / Nanking" – A pretty brutal/honest protrayal about Japanese war atrocities. 3.5/5
"The Pool " – A young Indian man makes inroads with a more well off family. 3/5
"The Big Picture" – Pretty good film about a guy who tries to make a future for himself while hiding his past. 3.5/5
"Point Blank" – A male nurse helps save someone and gets in Dutch with some nasty people. 3/5
"The Attack" – Really good film about a suicide attack in the Middle East and how it hits home with one man. Fiction/not much by at all by way of gore. 4/5
"The Fantastic Mr. Fox" – My favorite Wes Anderson movie yet – watched it with my kids and we all thought it was decent/cute. 3/5
"El Alamein " – This modern WWII movie followed an Italian unit at El Alamein while they are dug in against the British army. 3.5/5
"The East" – A mole is charged with trying to break into an anarchist/terrorist group (think Occupy, but with gumption) 3/5
"Blue is the Warmest Color" – A young French girl making time with a slightly older woman. Gratuitous nudity. A three hour movie that could have been done in 45 minutes. 1/5

Simply awesome in its badness. There's no zombie back story, barely a character front story, and just awesome in between. Thanks free ShowTime weekend!!
I am going to have to watch the Americanized version from 1956 to see how much they differ. Should be interesting, I would imagine.
The Wolf of Wallstreet - Horrible. Misogynistic. Exploitative piece of crap. You can't re-create Goodfellas, okay? Not even if this film had the benefit of an even better soundtrack and narrative would it be remotely comparable. No one wants to listen to DiCaprio for nearly 3 hours, with Movin' Out played twice, and scenes so awkward you're not sure if they're supposed to be funny. Scorsese is a boob.
