One of the other forums I go to has one of these threads and I've been turned on to some good movies that other regulars just watched. I was kind of surprised not to see a similar thread here (at least not that I could find.) Big Grin

I just rewatched "Kinamand" - a cute drama about a Danish plumber who gets involved in an arranged marriage with a Chinese illegal. Good stuff (Netflix instant.)

So what have you folks watched recently?

Harry Potter 7: Part 2
I saw it on TV and saw most of the second half of it. Really not a bad movie and I'm not normally into these kind of movies but it had me entertained and anticipating what was going to happen

Chappie: 2/5 - This movie...I didn't see the preview and decided to watch it based on the cover. This is definitely a don't judge a movie by its cover kind of movie... I thought it was going to be an uplifting robotic movie; come on, "Chappie" lol... I was totally unprepared for the semi-depressing and weird plot. Oh, and wtf is up with Hugh's hair. Facepalm

Housebound - An Australian horror/comedy about a young woman who is forced to return to the home she grew up in after she's placed on house arrest. Some really scary and funny moments with a bit of camp thrown in, very entertaining. 4/5

Saw Mad Max: Fury Road and I can't believe they paid Tom Hardy that much money just to grunt. If he had to redo his lines because he forgot then he should be slapped. The movie isn't bogged down by a whole lot of dialogue and back story. It gets straight to the action and explosions and keeps on going with a small lull here or there. If that's your thing, you'll love it. If you want to know more about Max, make it up on our own, it'll be easier.

Jurassic World those 4 raptors & the t-rex were badasses, but too much product placement. Felt like I was watching a 2-hour long benz commercial.

Jurassic World - 4/5 - I'm in the millions that disagree. I like the movie. I wish those rides and shows existed in real life, that'd be pretty awesome. I kind of felt they needed to explain certain things more but it'd make the movie 5 hours long. This was a pretty lengthy movie but it didn't feel that long. Certain things like what kind of ride was in the bird cage, how were people viewing that area since it's people-killing type of animals... or was it a restricted area. I didn't like how fast the owner died lol but that's to be expected.

The owner, was that Irrfan Khan? I hated to see him go too, as he was the ONLY good actor in the whole damned movie. Annoyed

Chris Pratt is pretty to look at but his acting skills are abysmal. Bryce Howard was outstanding in The Help but her character in Jurassic World was the equivalent of Jessica Rabbit.

Excellent movie. I would recommend people of all ages watch it. Funny and touching.
