One of the other forums I go to has one of these threads and I've been turned on to some good movies that other regulars just watched. I was kind of surprised not to see a similar thread here (at least not that I could find.) Big Grin

I just rewatched "Kinamand" - a cute drama about a Danish plumber who gets involved in an arranged marriage with a Chinese illegal. Good stuff (Netflix instant.)

So what have you folks watched recently?

I binged on Nurse Jackie as a first time viewer. Seasons 1-4 were okay but 5-7 she was just a horrible character with no redeeming qualities. Tough to watch.

My Octopus Teacher - very very good. You don't need Netflix to watch. JexMovie had no ads and no streaming issues.

Won't You Be My Neighbor - Really interesting documentary about Mr. Rogers.

A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood - Tom Hanks was really believable as Mr. Rogers in it. Though the whole fictionalized reporter wanting to do a hit piece on Fred Roger's sub plot seemed to go on and on.

The Irishman - Quite a switch from the other two, for sure. Didn't realize it was almost four hours long but it was super interesting the whole way through.

Al Pacino playing as Jimmy Hoffa was an interesting surprise. The movie was about the main hitman of a mob boss that actually lived in my area (Russell Bufalino).

Watched Sweet Home. Really enjoyed it. Horror drama show. Characters are likeable with some cliche horror bits but I didn't mind it at all. it's like evil but serious, mixed with zombie movies, mixed with a drama. I would recommend it to horror fans. 8.5/10.

The Empty Man ~ So... I guess it's not really a horror film. Starts off great the first half hour and then turns into a commentary on Scientology really. I had to Google if the movie was alluding to that and was shocked to see so few results.

It's a movie about a doomsday cult which is set up a lot like Scientology and even the exterior snapshot of the cult center in the movie reminded me of the celebrity center. Wasted 2 hours on this stupid movie.

Tried to watch the new Halloween movie and despite the stellar reviews, I could not get past the first 15 minutes of it. They just start in the middle of the story really and it's very awkward.
