I just got this with the edger attachment and a 4ah battery for $250 at Lowe's . If you need an extra battery or the attachment, I think it's a great deal.

Yeah this requires that you can pick up the attachments on a deal or pay full price. Would rather wait for a potential deal on a bundle or something.

I got this refurbished at about the same price as here. You can get a combo with a battery for $250, making this at best, an OK deal, but not slick.

I thought I had the universal handle when I bought a mower/trimmer deal. So over the off-season found a deal on the edger. Imagine my surprised when the trimmer wouldn't break down. Doh! My mistake. So, I jumped on the first deal I saw this year which had the Uni handle and a better for about this price. (This was over a month ago, and expired quickly...) But I just double checked. This one, for sure, does NOT have a battery. Mine came with a 4 Mah battery and std charger. (Not a bad deal!) Now, if the damn snow thrower, rubber paddle broom, and bristle broom would ever go on sale! Big Grin I'll upvote any (reasonable) Ego deal. I love all these tools so far!

I'll be honest, this thing is terrible compared to the stand alone tools. Unless you need specific attachments not offered as stand alone, get the stand alone instead. This much heavier and incredibly unbalanced compared to the stand alone trimmer etc. you also notice the power loss through the shaft system vs. drive in the head.

Plus is rare the attachments go on sale, and they cost more than the standalone tools w/battery often. Good in theory, but bad implementation from cost and use perspective.

I've had this power head plus edger attachment for a while. I actually think it works great and is well built, but I can confirm that the attachments NEVER go on sale and are priced way too high. You can pick up the permanent tool versions on promo with batteries for less than the respective heads.

This seems like a pretty poor deal compared to the bundles that pop up very frequently. No reason to buy the head for 150 when the head, trimmer, blower, and a battery are 200, for example.

I have a love/hate relationship with Ego but PowerLoad string loading convinced me to stay in. $151 is not bad but I am going with Acme's $99 refurb with 1 year warranty deal.

It's definitely heavy compared to the stand alone tools. I had this multi head at first then went to the stand alone tools and they are night and day so much better.

ohh they work fine, but compared to the stand alone tools the ergonomics are horrendous, if you have a bigger yard it makes a big difference.
