They're expensive, but well worth it. Imagine only paying for socks once in your entire lifetime.

Bought four dress socks and three ankle high socks for running 6 years ago.
The exercise socks are doing great.

The dress socks all have holes in the heel or top where you pull. They also slide around my feet throughout the day.

Got wide open socks after seeing those recs here and on reddit, and those are the most confortable socks I've ever worn, followed by smartwool.

Those with wider feet may not do as well with dressy darn tough.

Not so fast. They want you to ship the worn/damaged ones back before they'll credit you, and then you get a credit to buy from their (and only their) website. So deals like this, fuggedaboutit.

I spent $9 to return a hole-y pair, then another $6 to replace them. as they developed a hole in the ankle (of all places). So $15 for a pair that cost $20 purchased on sale.

I own 15 pairs of darn tough. Bought them 7 years ago now. I've replaced them over and over and over again for free. Buy once cry once. And if your feet sweat mad like mine, you'll never have feet issues again. You have to pay to ship back the socks though. My last return I did 8 at a time. And that's how you really make use of their policy.

For those in need with an REI membership, you may end up saving more with cash back on top with their sale right now. Although, I did notice that Go Bros has a different selection, possibly more of a variety.

i sent a pair back for under 3 bucks, got credited at the site, picked out a new pair and had it by the end of the week. The 3 bucks sending it back was all it cost me.

Who did you ship with? I've got pairs that are pushing 7 years with no issues, but will probably have to send some in eventually.
