And increasing the ppi a huge amount. If you're on a Mac everything will actually look sharp and smooth for once.

Display research scientist here. Get this. Don't listen to anyone who says OLED is better as they are not thinking longevity in mind. Even modern OLEDs don't have the brightness required to achieve the creators' brightness intent as there is no backlight on OLED. They not only start with low brightness but rapidly and permanently lose brightness over time as well. And I don't care what people say about Burn In being gone; it isn't and it never will be as the pixels die permanently. Various display technologies like QDEL, MicroLED, RGB Mini LED are getting closer and closer to fully replacing OLED and once that happens; nobody will care about OLED anymore. If you want a screen that lasts for 2-3 years before there's severe brightness loss then by all means get the OLED; but as a PhD in materials science, I wouldn't recommend it.
