i suppose... whilst in my case i don't have much pruning. pruning is more along the lines of maintenance / tightening something up like a bush...
i have more of the let me get rid off wild weed branches i dont want at all...
It's surprisingly very strong.
I've used it to cut 1/2 inch diameter stems without a problem.
