Yes if you've got it hard-wired directly into the AC with no switch. No if you flip a switch on the wall, in which case it turns on after about 1.5 seconds. BTW, it has memory, so however you set it when you flip a wall switch is how it restores when flipped back on.
Seems like a good fan. LED is natural light color. High speed is pretty fast. Haven't played with it much otherwise.
