I have had this keyboard for a couple of years and am very happy with it. The only thing missing is the numpad. While 8BitDo does make a matching numpad, they unfortunately missed the mark on that accessory. For some reason, they added a built in calculator function to the numpad, and moved the standard buttons around to make room for a Clear and Backspace key. Now every time I try to type a dash I get backspace instead.
So:
Keyboard = Great as is but would be better with a numpad.
Numpad Accessory (Not part of this deal) = Avoid unless you happen to need a very bulky pocket calculator that happens to double as a numpad.

When someone makes a retro themed product and some rando looks at it and says "How old is this crap anyway?" then you know they nailed it.

I suspect it's the exact same keyboard as the one I have, I have the clear green Xbox version made by the same company, and it's really clicky and has backlit LEDs. I just have them turn on with keypress rather than always being illuminated. Any how, works great wirelessly, works great when plugged in, it feels premium and has a good weight to it. I often game with it in my lap paired with the same branded wireless mouse. For $51, it's a great deal. This is coming from someone that's been using keyboards since the 80s, believe me when I say, it gives that old school mechanical feeling.

For those unaware, there is a version of this with the numpad already built in (standard keyboard size). It's going to cost you a lot more though.

Great deal! Kailh box whites are probably my favorite clicky switches, haven't tried the V2s though. I was about to jump on this but I think I'll wait to see if the full size goes on sale

Extremely good price, if the build quality and keyfeel is like the c64 version (which I have, and which I'm sure it is). C64 ver is $110 which is nuts - I'd buy another of those in a heartbeat if they dropped in price as well.

I think each version has a different switch and case but same base and feature. I have Mecha break version, which says a linear switch.

I own two 8bitdo keyboards and would recommend them. The mecha break keyboard has jellyfish switches in them and they're my favorite. The one in this style is traditional and quite a bit louder, but that is generally preferabled by folks. This color also comes with a standalone numberpad and a full sized keyboard. Thing about getting the standalone numberpad is that both require their wireless USB to be connected at once. So if you want the numberpad, buy the full.

IMO a great keyboard for a great price, especially if the aesthetics are your thing. I'm sure that there are plenty of hardcore mechanical keyboard enthusiasts that would disagree, but I'm happy with mine.

Its a shame the fill size one with the number pad doesn't go on sale like this, or else I would have picked up another one for home to match the one I have at work.

Yea same, but mine was for home only from the start. The people in the other threads were making insane comments abount how it sounded, they must have people sleeping in the same room while they type or something, it just sounds normal to me., its not much louder than my g502x which is a loud mouse.
The AB buttrons are hefty and easily programmable, you get 4 total with the big and ones on the keyboard itself.
It looks and feels retro and quite solid, not sure what people were whining about. Its plastic but its still heavy, and the sku different based on what is included, the AB/joystick aren't in separate boxes, so there are 3 versions.

I do not have this, but I have been shopping and thinking about getting this or one of the other models from this company for sometime.

They do have ones that have number pads built-in they do have ones with number pads built-in
They have other models aimed to look like commodores and old IBM's.
The reputation amongst keyboard enthusiasts that they're pretty good keyboards. Again, I personally have not tried one. I haven't quite convinced myself that I need a keyboard just for the aesthetics.

I have this keyboard. It's fun aesthetically for nostalgia. As a keyboard, the lack of an included numeric keypad is annoying, and it's very loud. You can buy a matching keypad but it's frustrating to have to do that.
