I think the biggest changers for me, though, was altering how I got out of bed in the morning and also picking up a calf slant board and stretching regularly.

Insurance paid for it. I dont remember how much they were on the statement. And it can be a hassle to get insurance to pay for them, they wanted to pay for a whole pair of shoes and I wasnt impressed with the last shoe I got. Plus some job sites I have to visit require safety shoes (electrical, slip, and composite toe) which I couldnt get in one of their shoes, and those jobs are the ones I usually have to stand 6 - 10 hours a day. After battling with Cigna for about a month, the store called me and told me the insurance company has approved me for up to 4 pair of insoles.
My foot doc said to buy powersteps and it is better to change inserts periodically

custom orthotics are great but holy hell they are way too pricy and honestly they are horrible to work out with.
I have flat feet and underpronation, which is a slightly worse combination. Asics Nimbus/Cumulus have been great. So also looking for anything else i can try.
That's my guess, anyone with direct experience in the comparison?
The ONLY thing that offered relief of any kind was custom. Try Stride, substantially cheaper than your doctor's office, you use your phone and their app to do a 3d model of your foot and video of your gait. I bought like 4 pairs.
Unfortunately for me my PF never went away and I had to have surgery
