This 3 pack of 32GB PNY Class 10 U1 microSD cards looks like a low cost option for handhelds, general storage, music, videos, and spare cards. The effective price lands around $8 each, and the cards are described as working well for basic use, with some real world tests and long term use in cameras and handhelds. The main caution is reliability, since there are reports of dead on arrival cards, corruption, and failures after a few months or after repeated writes. For dash cams and other constant write uses, endurance rated cards are the safer fit.

  • PNY support can replace dead-on-arrival cards quickly after receiving a photo and order confirmation.

  • The cards can work well for security cameras and dash cams with continuous write over multiple years.

  • The 32GB cards can pass a basic write-and-verify test after purchase.

  • The 3-pack can include cards that remain working even when one card corrupts files during an international flight.

  • The cards can be unreliable for dash cams, where endurance-rated cards are recommended to protect critical clips.

  • Some sets can include dead-on-arrival cards, and a few reports describe unreadable cards after only a few uses.

  • The cards can fail after only a few months of use, which can be risky for critical recordings.

  • The cards can corrupt files and become unusable, including cases where reformatting cannot restore access.

I got the 256gb 2 years ago. It is still working great. Hoping the 256gb going on sale again to get a few more for some new cameras.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I got this exactly a year ago when it was on sale. The one I installed in my tablet just so happened to corrupt all my files on my international flight. It was just movies, tv shows, and music. So nothing major, but it sucked. The other 2 are still working strong to this day. It might be crappy QC or just my turn to be dealt unfavorable cards.

32GB for $25 is crazy. Guess even AI data centers are buying up these.

I used different brand of MicroSD cards before. Only the PNY's card gets corrupted after using it for a while, cannot even reformat to continue its usage.
"Only the PNY's card gets corrupted after using it for a while". All MicroSD's get corrupted, even the well-rated ones. It's a very convenient form-factor for memory and storage, but there's always risk involved with Micro-SD (and basically every other form of storage and memory).

I've generally had good luck with PNY card and thumb drives, but I can't see buying a 32GB anything these days

How many reviews can you see? I only can view 5, but it says there are 17 (maybe 12 are just star ratings and only 5 left actual reviews). Of those 1 is generic 3 star "it works what else do you want" and the 1 star says "Two of the cards were fine, one tested as fake capacity with H2testw". They only have one image on their review which shows 29807MB written and verified on the card, which is standard for a 32GB microsd card. It also does not list a manufacturer and they don't claim it is a fake CARD, just misrepresented storage. Many people do not understand why a 1TB drive might only have like 960GB when match says 1TB = 1024GB, or in this case 32GB card would only have 29.8ish GB. It has to do with 1) there is (almost?) always a partition on a drive for recovery and operations (firmware type stuff), and 2) We think of 1 GB as 1024 MB but computers use Binary and that maths differently. IMO it is a stupid practice and storage devices should be represented as what a normal human would expect them to have but that makes manufacturing more difficult.
Here is a link that explains some of the math if anyone cares: https://www.emtec-international.c...emory-card

Having said all of that, if you can see international reviews or something that indicated other bad reviews, or looked at a different site for reviews, they may be accurate.

Why y'all downvoting this comment? He's right!
Because the 1 review claiming inaccurate storage amount (or "fake capacity" as they put it) and the picture in their review shows evidence that the capacity is actually exactly what it should be.

I bought this set. 2 of the 3 were dead on arrival. Thankfully PNY SUPPORT sent replacements fairly quickly. No issues since

I was wondering what people would say. I got these and the cheap usb stick PNY on sales before the price jump. Sucks to lose data I wanted with these. I stopped buying them even dirt cheap and I still have a few. Don't know if I'd rather trash them or find out my data is gone again then kick myself. IIRC some of these and the USB sticks were DOA also.

I just had one of these die today (or realized it was dead today), purchased a 5 pack in March. Surprisingly though, emailed PNY tech support with a photo of the card and screenshot of an order confirmation and they are shipping me a new card out no questions asked. Replied back within a few hours. Fail for the card, win for the customer service.

Luckily, I didn't lose any real data, it was just a trail cam.

Also had a Kingston thumb drive recently as well. That customer service is a ****ing joke. They wanted me to ship the thumb drive back via UPS or Fedex, the cost of the shipping was as much as the drive was. Ended up just going to Amazon customer service since that was purchased within a month. I lost a bunch of important data on that one though.

PNY cards are a waste of money. Cards become unreadable after just a few uses

I got a 5 pack of PNY 64 gb cards shipped and sold by Amazon last year that came in a baggie with a black and white copy of the packaging. They were cheap and worked, so I didn't bother sending back the obvious fakes, but it was definitely a comingled stock situation. 2 or 3 have already failed. I definitely regret not paying more to get them from a direct seller then.

Also seconding that while PNY will give you generally functioning stuff, I've seen a lot of comments about failure a few months in - more than usual, so also avoiding personally

Great. Fo. Static storage like music , or videos, not good for constant re. Writes
I've been using 32GB and 64GB PNY microSD cards exclusively (whatever was cheapest at the time) for the past 6+ years in security cams and dash cams with continuous write, and haven't had a failure yet. Of course, I'm sure they'll start failing now that I've mentioned it.
But got a 3-Pack PNY 64GB Elite-X Class 10 U3 V30 A1 microSDXC for under $14 less than a year ago, ready to replace any failed card should it happen.
