For use cases like dash cams, it's better to buy a very reputable card geared for endurance like Samsung Pro Endurance or Sandisk High Endurance. Don't want to lose a critical clip when it could save you hundreds or even thousands if an accident happens.

Edit: lol, why the downvotes? You do you, I guess.

horrible for dashcams, for dashcams you need endurance rated

Community Reviews

This 3 pack of 32GB PNY Class 10 U1 microSD cards looks like a low cost option for handhelds, general storage, music, videos, and spare cards. The effective price lands around $8 each, and the cards are described as working well for basic use, with some real world tests and long term use in cameras and handhelds. The main caution is reliability, since there are reports of dead on arrival cards, corruption, and failures after a few months or after repeated writes. For dash cams and other constant write uses, endurance rated cards are the safer fit.

Also seconding that while PNY will give you generally functioning stuff, I've seen a lot of comments about failure a few months in - more than usual, so also avoiding personally

Fair point. I was thinking more general storage/handheld use for a dash cam I'd spend the extra on an endurance card too.

I used different brand of MicroSD cards before. Only the PNY's card gets corrupted after using it for a while, cannot even reformat to continue its usage.

The higher grade PNY consumer cards have tested well here:
