Does it work via simple light switch and fan switch without all the bs? Seems like it's rare for a fan to work like "normal" anymore.

Installed one in my dining room. Nice fan, good features I just cant seem to get the dang app to sync. Gave up and just using it as a dumb fan and it works great! It might be cool to get it to sync with Alexa at some point but I don't care a ton. Uses the ewelink app via Bluetooth and instructions aren't the greatest. Comes with a wireless remote and wall mount plate that you can install anywhere.

You have to keep the wall switch of this fan in off, then press the WiFi button on the remote and now turn on the wall switch within 5 seconds and you should hear a beep from fan. While I am not sure of this fan model but this is how most of these Amazon sold fans connect to WiFi. Try this and let us know.
