The series is two books and a novella in, and will supposedly have one more book and novella.
The general premise is an alien race is taking over a planet populated by humans. I frame it this way because the humans know they aren't native to the planet, but the how/why are lost to history.
I'd like to say it's set in the distant future of the same universe as the Expanse, but the authors have apparently said that's not the case.
The world building is fantastic, human nature is captured just as well as with the Expanse (frustratingly at times), and there's a lot of mystery to unravel.
I'm trying to be as broad as possible here to avoid any spoilers.
