That was kinda where my head was. I have a 27-in 4K and I think it's too small but a 32-in 1440p feels too big for that resolution. My hunch is that a 27-in 1440p is perfect and a 32-in 4K is perfect

thanks for the info. I spent hours looking this up. 27 qhd and 32 in 4k . thanks for the info. do you think it might be cheaper and easier for me to just use my 4k 55 inch tv instead?

Id love to jump into a high refresh rate monitor with G-Sync, but something im wondering about, i want a monitor with good black contrast so i can see details in games such as alan wake 2. I also want vibrant punchy colors for games like ratchet and clank. IPS is probably not the right choice for that right? I also dont want to go to 4k cause my 4070 TI Super graphics card isnt quite there for that. Plenty for 1440 though.

1400p on a 32" is fine. The dealbreaker here is no curve. A flat 32" monitor gives this effect that the corners are curved away from you.

OLED is the better choice for vibrant colors and excellent black contrast.

at what point do I need a curve ? starting at 27? non movie watcher non gamer, using as monitor for daily computer uses, coming from a Macbook pro (retina) screen

Maybe an OLED 27 inch 1440p monitor. Also you can always get a 32 inch 4k monitor and just set the game resolution to 1440p or use medium quality settings and DLSS with 4k.

Im not as picky about resolution as many are. Size is more important to me and 27" isnt enough. I have a 60" 1080p TV i sit about 4-5 feet from that looks fine to me and im sure the pixel density at that size/res and distance is a whole lot less than a 32" 1440 at about 1.5-2 feet. Thats what i game on now. 4k is too much res for my 4070 TI super, and im not fussy about that aspect anyway. Mostly what i want to change is to have a high refresh rate and G-Sync so i can feel smoother gameplay and get rid of screen tearing. Its just that if im doing that change anyway id also like to have really great black contrast levels so i can see details in dark games. So i guess im waiting for a deal on an OLED.

I only noticed it when going 32". 27 is fine as flat. But with the distance between your eyes and the screen on a 32" I really started to see the warping away effect when I bought a flat 32".
