This might seem like a dumb question, but I genuinely don't get the purpose of an impact screw driver. Isn't the impact string due to the powered tool? Why would a hand tool need that level of durability?

It means all the tips are dual use. If you have an impact driver you can use any of these bits with it, which could be pretty convenient and save carrying even more bits around with you for small jobs. Just grab your screwdriver and impact driver and you're good to go.

Looks like you need a college degree in mechanical engineering to assemble and disassemble this tool before use.

It's convenient to have a good strong bit. Growing up the 10-1 screwdriver bits would break.

The overview on the product's page has a lot of info about these tools. All of these questions are answered in the marketing material in the overview.

Got one. Good review here (yes, the shaft can be shortened):

I bit on this thing on an earlier sale. It is a clever all-in-one bit storage device with a great assortment of high quality of bits. Actually using it as a screwdriver is ok but, unsurprisingly, is it not particularly ergonomic.

But if you want one thing in a small toolbox or kitcken tool drawer that you can grab to drive the large majority of the fasteners you might encounter... this thing is about as good as it gets.

I got two of these last time it was this price for the junk drawer and the truck and I'm happy with it. Gonna pick up four more as white elephant gifts.

I bought this last time it was on sale and yeah, at first it was a bit (no pun intended) confusing. But after messing with it for a while, most of the various sockets just fit on the shaft for storage in any order and it's not as confusing as it looks.

Assume better material used or quality controls than generic brands' "Made in China?" Hard to get a set made in USA with this price even from Klein brand I think.

I got this a month ago for the same price. I didn't like it as much as I hoped. It's a bit difficult sliding the sockets in and out.
