Nothing Phone was created by one of One Plus co-founders Carl Pei a Chinese Origin young entrepreneur who had his education in Sweden and the West.
He and Pete Lau found OP and remember they were the original manufacturer to have unlocked bootloaders and cyanogen Mod as the OS. As OP became more and more a part of OPPO Electronics he developed differences with Executive Leadership and started a separate company called Nothing Phone. Basically it is a European brand of what he founded OP.

I dunno I would say an S24 Ultra is the better $500 buy that you can find. It's a year older, but you're getting true flagship hardware, better cameras and zoom, a better display, stronger performance, and the S Pen if youre into that. At the same price, I'd take the depreciated Ultra over the Nothing Phone 3 .. 9 out of 10 times.

I've had one for a while. my takeaway , it's heavy, and the screen is mediocre. but at this price probably best 500$ phone you can get.

Very surprised u say the screen is mediocre considering it is a 6.67inch AMOLED 120hz display which imo AMOLED screens always look gorgeous

It isn't the elite series in this one but it is the Snapdragon 8s gen4 which is considered their top tier mid-range chip so it isn't a bad chip by any means but u are correct it isn't their elite series which is their top of the line best chip

Problem is with Samsung is their bootloaders are locked (Knox) Too much of a hassle to root and it is not truly "rooted." Bloatware bogs down the phone.

Ordered and then cancelled the 512Gb model. I'm on verizon and not interested in calling Verizon to register the IMEI number. There are way better options than dealing with a celular company's customer service
