It's one of those things where the "no added sugar" or "natural" variants of Skippy are more unhealthy than regular Skippy if you watch your carbohnydrates.

Peanuts have plenty of oil by themselves. Why did they add palm oil? Good no added sugar, but I prefer natural with nothing but peanuts and minimal salt.

I've never really understood the no-sugar-added version. If I'm buying peanut butter, I'd rather just get one with peanuts, salt and nothing else.

I imagine the palm oil is what makes it so you don't get the separation. So you don't have to stir it.

It's also a super cheap filler, not that American companies would cheap out on us or anything 😖

I'm sure you can buy some peanut butter for $15 with no palm oil.

It's a good price, but I'm not sure I'm willing to take the nutrition hit.

Because sugar is healthier than peanuts? Peanuts, salt. That's peanut butter. Anything else is an adulteration.

"Sugar (granulated/table sugar, sucrose) is almost pure carbohydrate with essentially no other nutrients, while peanuts are nutrient-dense, providing substantial protein, healthy fats, fiber, vitamins, and minerals."- Grok

Me too. Used to buy Walmart organic, peanuts, salt, until I found out Costco has 2 large jars of peanuts, salt for much less. Also organic.

You're adding the nutrients in peanuts. Eating pure sugar with no nutrients is taking a nutrition hit. There are such things as good fats.

Actual peanut butter with nothing else added is expensive. This is technically peanut spread because of all the added oil. If you have a proper blender, the best option is to make it yourself. Add peanuts, blend and tamp down until creamy. That's it.

Skippy is garbage. Spend more and get organic peanut butter from costco. 2 big jars for 10 bucks
