These are pretty great! I've been using a pair since maybe 2017-2018. I've been in many different types of production facilities (Glass production, Landfills, Plastic processing, etc). They've been acceptable in each, have plenty of foot protection, and are super comfy! They don't have much for ankle support or protection, but are otherwise excellent!

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

If you spend a lot of time kneeling on hard surfaces the nylon on the toes will wear through VERY quickly. For me it only took a few days. The solution is to apply a coating of KG Boot Guard to the toes, probably before you start seeing any wear there. It's ugly AF, but two years later there is zero sign of toe wear. That stuff is pretty amazing.

The seams on the corners of the toes started popping at about 6 months. In retrospect, maybe if I had brought the Boot Guard around the sides a bit more the seams may not have broken open?

Finally… that super squishy insole that makes these so comfortable? Expect it to develop holes where your toes are. I'm on my second pair and experienced the same issue with both pairs. And I'm not a very heavy dude. 145# so weight wasn't a factor.

One last thing: these do not have a shank in the sole, so not really ideal if you spend a lot of time on ladders or climbing scaffolding. For me it's a trade off, preferring the overall comfort.

All that said, I look at these as a consumable supply for work. I wish they lasted longer, and that I didn't have to spend another $15 on KG Boot Guard, but I've tried all the "durable work boot" brands and these Skechers are 1/3 the price and 10x more comfortable.

I have a pair of these. If you need an inexpensive pair of steel-toed safety shoes ASAP, they're not horrible. They're pretty wide without being sized as "wide", which is a plus. And the exterior wears well. But the memory foam insole craps out way before you'd hope and it's not intended to be removable (I mean, you can cut them out and put new ones on top of the footbed, but it's a headache and they don't come out cleanly).

I've had a lot better luck with Wolverine and Volcom safety shoes, but these aren't the worst I've owned.

I work on steel decking all day and these really didn't hold up well for me. After the 1st 3 weeks the gray portion of the sole was already peeling off. Paid twice as much for a pair of Timberland Pros but they've lasted twice as long and my feet and knees don't hurt as much, but I am a large and heavy guy. If you need cheap shoes and you are lighter these may be fine, but they didn't work well for me.
