Loading times are much better loading from disk but it is still a limited device so you have to manage your expectations when running games on Steam.
The second one I got from the most recent deal for $149 came with 12GB RAM which was a nice surprise. Gamescope in Pocknix shows that the GPU does occasionally use more than 8GBs.
Fantastic device for the amount of stuff you can do as far as emulation and some lite Steam games.

Great little handheld. I like it much better than the RP4Pro which I had before. I also have a Ayn Thor so don't need this at all. I'm conflicted which to sell. The Thor I rarely use but can play Switch and dual screen 3/DS, however this feels better in the hand and even if the RP5 is longer, it feels more pocketable. Normally I EDC my RG Rotate and play the Steam Deck at home, but I do like a more capable retro handheld (smaller than the Deck) for use when traveling.
