At 2.6 lbs it is not that cumbersome. Smaller & lighter than the Soundcore Boom2 and closer to the size of the JBL charge 6.
Bass extension is decent for its size and thumps a bit heavier than my old Soundcore Motion +.
I got one from target for $49 last week.

Only negatives is that ULT 3 (and ULT 5) aren't very portable. They can fit in backpacks and can be easily carried around the house, but they're very lengthy and boxy, and kind of heavy or what they are. Also, the ULT 3 and 5 have good mid-bass but very little to no sub-bass.
Highly recommend buying 2 ULT 3s and using them in stereo mode.
