Costco's membership ends at the end of the month you buy it in after the year has passed. If you buy it now, it will end Aug 31st, 2027. If you buy it Sep 1, 2026, It will end Sep 30th, 2027. By holding off until Sep 1, you gain about one month for free, so your membership will last almost 13 months instead of 12 months and 5 days..

If I have two separate state-issued IDs, can I alternate between them when joining as a new member? I'd use a different phone number and email, plus two different addresses. I'm concerned they might search my name in their system and match the photo to my recently expired membership.

I will hold off on this. COSTCO had a much better deal directly on their website in July. They offered a $50 SHOP card for new members. I'm pretty sure they're going to run another $50 SHOP card promo before the end of the year.

of course I didn't have enough time to get this again! Looks like they only ran it for a few days? Was the gift card usable just online too and did you have to go into the store in order to activate the membership? if that's the case, wasthere a deadline when you had to go into the store by?

COSTCO tends to run this promo every July from what I remember. I think they run the $50 for standard membership again around black Friday but don't recall. Oh well, worst case scenario would be they run another offer but not as lucrative.
