The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus stands out as a strong-value Arrow Lake chip, with the bundle pricing making it feel far above its usual class. It is described as adding four E cores, more cache, and higher benchmark scores than the 265K, while the refresh is said to address the earlier scheduling issues. The deal can drop to $179.99 with a motherboard or qualifying cooler, and bundle pricing has been seen around $180. The main caution is RAM compatibility and speed, since the platform is picky and benefits from the right DDR5 kit. It is a compelling pick if the memory and board pairing line up.

Hmm so tempting to switch to this from 7700x. Should I? Or am I better off with upgrading to better am5 processor down the road? I want that galactic racer game lol

Only if your ram is compatible with Intel. Otherwise I would say stay with am5

I got a great deal at microcenter when the 265k went on deep discount sale after its initial launch. Is this worth the upgrade?

Yes you can sell your 265k on ebay for .... checks sold listings $200~$275

270k gets you 4 more e cores, 6mb more L3, 4mb more L2 cache, 68k passmarks compared to 58k for the 265k

Bigger gain is that the 270K is a Arrow Lake 200S Plus Refresh from 2025 that addresses the initial software scheduling issues of the 2024 265K

This is a great chip, at a great price.

But if you have the 7700x, just replace it with a $300 7800x3d or $400 9800x3d ...

Amazon was $255 for quite a while but it looks like they just raised it back up to $310. I got one at $255 a few weeks ago.
