Great deal, but on the smaller side.

JobSmart's 10 piece 1 half inch drive deep impact socket set stands out as a very cheap way to get cased metric or SAE deep sockets for general garage and roadside use. The lifetime guarantee and sturdy case add appeal, and the larger sizes fit common jobs like lug nuts and trailer toolboxes. The main drawback is the small metric end, since the set tops out at 19 mm and the 8 mm to 12 mm sockets are risky on a 1 half inch impact. It is a compact, budget set best suited to bigger fasteners.
Common Questions (5)
An 8 mm socket on a 1/2-inch impact can shear off small bolts, especially if they are rusty or corroded. Short bursts can sometimes break a stuck fastener free, but 3/8-inch or smaller tools are safer for routine work on 8 mm hardware.
The metric set tops out at 19 mm and includes small sizes like 8 mm and 10 mm, so it is better suited to lighter-duty or specific jobs than a full large-size impact set. The 8 mm and 10 mm sockets can be risky on a 1/2-inch impact for rusty fasteners, while 17 mm and 19 mm are useful for common lug nuts.
Availability is store-dependent, and some locations had them in clearance sections or tool bins rather than regular shelving. The sets were found in both front and back clearance areas, so checking those spots can help.
The metric set includes smaller sizes and stops at 19 mm, which is why some shoppers wanted a 12 mm to 24 mm range instead. That makes it less ideal if you need only larger deep sockets for a big 1/2-inch impact wrench.
JobSmart tools are covered by a lifetime guarantee. That makes the low-priced set more practical if you want a cheap cased backup for regular socket use or roadside repairs.

And most impact wrenches are 1/2".
So it makes sense to start a 1/2" kit at 8mm (especially if you are servicing a rusty portable generator).
The HF Pittsburgh deep 1/2" impact set starts at 10mm, and costs $35
It might cost you $5 for just a 10mm 1/2" impact socket alone......

An 8mm head is only an M5 bolt. It will be destroyed using a 1/2 impact on it. The entire reason i mentioned that the sockets are too small to be used on 1/2 drives.
Do some research.....
No, you should not use a 1/2-inch impact wrench on an M5 bolt.An M5 bolt is a very small fastener (5mm diameter) that typically requires a tightening torque of only 4 to 6 Newton-meters (Nm), or about 3 to 4.5 foot-pounds (ft-lbs). In stark contrast, a standard 1/2-inch impact wrench is a heavy-duty tool designed to deliver anywhere from 200 to over 1,200 Nm of torque. Using a tool of this size will instantly shear the head right off an M5 bolt, strip its threads, or snap the fastener in

Once you have been turning wrenches for a while, you can feel when a fastener is so stuck that the head will twist off if you turn any harder.
That's when the hammering of an impact is called for. An impact wrench is not just for high torque; it's big advantage is that the hammering shatters the rust holding it frozen. Using short blasts; 90% of the time it will break free without damaging the fastener. The other 10% of the time, ya got to torch the MF.
Practice using the shortest blasts of hammering, it's a skill worth having in the rust belt.

Small severely rusted fasteners or those treated with red Loctite are most prone to breakage. The most effective solution is to apply heat to break the bond, then use a Vise Grip to remove the fastener.
The HF deep impact set {10 mm to 32 mm} was $20 a few weeks back. It's still reasonably priced today at $25. Regular impact is only $18. There are many HF stores in the US for quick exchange if defective.
