I have this tool, not refurnished though. It's decent and works well on my palm trees. I don't really understand the shoulder strap much but I put it on just in case.

I have one of these 18V Ryobi Pole Saws (not refurbished) and it works great! I use it very frequently on my 12 acres trimming branches, cutting down small trees and cutting up large fallen branches after storms. There is some slight flexibility with the extension attached. It's a fantastic tool that has really made some of my landscaping easier.

I read your comment and it's 99% what I was gonna say. I had the fuse blow out but I watched some videos how to remove/replace fuse and it's been working fine since. But hope this deal is still around if/when motor dies.

Yeah my biggest complaint is that the extensions have too much "play" in them, which isn't fun when the saw is 10ft above you

A pop up comes up to put in your email and phone number, you'll get a text with a code. It didn't pop up when I visited the site on my phone, had to go on my laptop.
*edit* I just noticed if you scroll down to the bottom of the page, there's a place to put in your email and phone number to get the code.

I got this one a few years ago from DTO as factory blemished and it's been really great for the price. All the previous comments cover what I was gonna say, wobbly shaft, oddball shoulder strap, etc.

I like it a lot, no fussing around with gas engine and it cuts surprisingly nicely (keep the teeth sharp). One hidden use of it is like when a bush or arborvitae gets really overgrown and you normally have to crawl in there and try to trim branches as they all poke you in the eyes. I used mine to reach in and saw off a bunch of branches so that I could get under and trim with smaller tools. It's been a really decent tool, though if I really had a lot to do, or a business, I'd go for something a little stronger. But then if I had a really nice one, I wouldn't be sticking it down in the dirt to prune bushes. I'm not a huge fan of reconditioned, I like blemished better. But this tool has been a great buy for me.

I have three of these types of units with the same middle piece extension. I can confirm that the extensions can be used together to get additional reach. Yes 4 or 5 of these screwed together move some and have more play but for some unique circumstances to get some upper branches or additional reach it is very helpful.

In for one. There's one errant branch that I need to cut over the roof, and this cost only slightly more than it would take for me to rent one from Home Depot for just a couple of hours. Thank you.
