Agree with this. Also if you look at some of the other SD posts about Philips they are now a Chinese company and their customer service is absolutely the worst. I bought a machine directly from them on a BF deal and absolutely did not like the machine as well as the coffee it made. I took advantage of their 30-day money back guarantee and sent it back. They literally would not issue a refund after sending pictures and the tracking number showing it had been returned. I won my credit card dispute after fighting with them for 3 months and for these reasons I no longer buy Phillips products. I try to warn people about Phillips every time I see a post about one of their products. Dyson is my other hate but that's in another thread Smilie.

We bought it for the lab to keep brains caffeinated, took a 1-2 weeks to dial it in but produces consistent shots and long coffee shots and people are happy with it. We don't care about the milk frother and just removed it, we just wanted to get away from disposable capsules and get fresh ground one button coffee. We are running it with lavazza beans.

I just take stuff (unboxed) to my local UPS store and they scan the QR code. I usually get a refund in a couple hours. What kind of hoops are you talking about?

Recently returned an Owala Bottle because the lid was a different color and used. Someone clearly switched out the lid, and after sending it back I was asked to verify the return with a photo ID.
I verified, but my ID was expired by 3 days. And I had not received the updated ID from the DMV. So, I asked them to resend the link so I can verify with my passport.
They sent three separate links which did not provide the passport option like the first link had, and only allowed for driver's license.
I only had 2 days left to verify my ID or risk losing my return, but luckily my new driver's license arrived.
Since this incident I have never had an advance return or refund upon UPS receipt. Amazon seems to need to inspect every one of my returns before a refund.
I will not renew Prime after this holiday season, and it's probably for the best.

Had one (3400) for almost a month. Sent it back, small pucks, lukewarm temps. Got a DeLonghi Eletta from Woot! Way better machine.

Returns are still easy for me and most other people. It sounds like Amazon's algorithm flagged your account for some reason.

If amazon was requiring those extra steps for everyone (or even a sizable fraction of their users) we would be seeing countless threads and posts here about it.

idk man had a great experience with Philips. Bought from Amazon and the milk frother stopped working well a week later (bcs of clogged dried milk that I hadn't cleaned properly). It was my first experience with fully automatics. Anyway Philips customer service immediately shipped us additional Latte Go spare as well as filter as well as some decalcification product. Its been four years now and it's been working as good as new. I only use lavazza beans.

I bought this on a similar deal last year. The machine was new, not used at all. The shield on the top of the bean hopper had a crack in it. I called Phillips cs and they sent me a new one as well as some lube for the brew group that should have been in the box, but wasn't. The strength of coffee can be adjusted by the grind size and decreasing the amount per pull; I've had no problem with the strength (but to each his own). The temp. of the coffee can also be adjusted by a weird combination of button presses/holds. The machine uses alot of water so while I prefer filtered/bottled water, I use brita and the in machine filter (so it's double filtered). The generic filters available on amazon work fine (don't have to buy oem). We use ours for espresso; always a creama (though I don't care) and Latte's and Caps. All work well. Put it this way, although ours is working well and I think it will for some time, I'm tempted with this offer just to have a spare. We use a variety of brands of mostly dark beans in our machine.

I have made thousands of cups of coffee with these Phillips machines. I am on my third one over 10 years. The tubes and seals inside break. I was unsuccessful to fix it myself so, I just replace them since the local repair shop charges about half the price of a new one to look at it. I agree that it sometimes makes watery shots, but I am only making ice coffee with it. Sometimes I need an extra shot. With this unit most the time you just press 2 buttons and you have your shot.
