Agree with this. Also if you look at some of the other SD posts about Philips they are now a Chinese company and their customer service is absolutely the worst. I bought a machine directly from them on a BF deal and absolutely did not like the machine as well as the coffee it made. I took advantage of their 30-day money back guarantee and sent it back. They literally would not issue a refund after sending pictures and the tracking number showing it had been returned. I won my credit card dispute after fighting with them for 3 months and for these reasons I no longer buy Phillips products. I try to warn people about Phillips every time I see a post about one of their products. Dyson is my other hate but that's in another thread Smilie.

In my experience, the grind size needs to be adjusted and the default middle is wayy too course for a normal medium roast. For the stumptown hairbender blend, I have it dialed to 3/10 or 2/10. The grind size makes a huge difference in the taste and if your pucks come out like slush in the bin, then it's too course.

I've owned the 4300 for over 4 years and it's been great. I've previously owned a saeco(Phillips owns Saeco an Italian coffee machine maker) and the brew group looks identical to the saeco. I suspect these are designed by saeco. Regardless we pull around 6 shots a day and it's never let me down. I think the beans have more to do with the outcome than the machine. I've started roasting my own which is fun and relaxing.

Return rate is really low.
But, during Prime Day I purchased two expensive Lego Sets.
I requested to return both, but ended up keeping them.
I think that was what screwed me.

I received the package today and it was damaged. The plastics were cracked and the original package was in really poor condition. When I went to request a return, I noticed the condition was marked at "Used - mint" when I am 100% positive I ordered the 'Like new" that was linked in this post.

EDIT: I guess "Used - mint" is the same as "Like new"

I got a pretty banged up machine as well. Started a return immediately

I guess I'll wait for a delonghi refurb to go on sale

I received a different model in the box (EP3241/74 instead of the EP3241/54), which initially seemed like a win as it has an iced coffee function that the /54 doesn't have. However, it is missing the LatteGo carafe and seemed quite a bit beyond 'used - like new'. It also has a build date of June 2022, so I wonder if someone played a little bit of switcheroo with an amazon order/return.

Going to return.

Mine was in rough shape and it was supposed to be mint condition. The ground coffee lid was broken same with the top lid it had a giant crack on it. I put the water in it and it leaked everywhere instantly. Opened up and 2 hoses were not hooked up. Literally came with whole coffee beans in it the list goes on. I've never seen anything this bad before. Instant Return giant waste of time.

FWIW my $0.02 on this. I just received my "Like-New" / "Used-Mint" item from Amazon and have never received such a disgusting item from them. No original box, no manual, loose accessories, the "Latte-Go" container had visible scale on it, the water reservoir had a used filter loose inside it and what was either a husk of a bug or part of a coffee bean in it. The hopper contained coffee dust and there were several scratches. Don't even bother calling customer support, they will only refund it, or offer a $20 gift card if you want to keep the unsanitary piece of garbage they pass off as Like New.
