I think Almost no chance. Most popular game in the world at launch cloud-streaming would ruin their servers.

GTA V has been out for a while so they had the time to support cloud streaming. I believe the plan is to support cloud streaming eventually, but highly doubt it will be available at launch. I could be wrong, but wouldn't get your hopes up considering nothing official has been stated.

The portal is a mixed bag for me. The dual sense function and screen are great. It's also surprisingly light for how big it is. The cloud streaming works really well but you have to have PS Premium subscription to use it and it has a bit of latency. Remote play is ok if you're in the house connected to the same wifi as your PS5, but it's still got some latency so it's basically unusable for any competitive multiplayer. You'll need to own games digitally to stream them as well (can only play physical copies through remote play).

Bottom line: Good deal, worth it if you have PS Premium and want to play on the go.

I have fiber 2GB internet, PSN Premium a PS5 Pro and the PS Portal and playing while connected to the system or the cloud is garbage. Playing games on Amazon Luna has less lag and even then I wouldn't recommend Luna unless you already have an Amazon Prime account (which I'm 99% sure you'll never see GTA there anyways).

For games that I have bought in my PS account, would I remote play from the PS5 and that cause the PS5 to turn on? I'm trying to decide if I'll want a Portal or use remote play via an app on a phone or tablet whenever GTA6 comes out. Remote play requires the PS5 to be on. You can turn off the PS5 from the portal when you're done. The PS5 does not need to be on for cloud streaming

I would have, but I'm glad I discovered the Asobi PS Streaming App. Cloud Gaming without PS Portal requirement is crazy good. So much better than Remote Play App. You can connect a Dualsense controller and have haptics work on mobile streaming.

I have a friend who subbed to PS plus and only plays cloud games on his phone and tablet. He hopes GTA6 will be available to stream as a title you own so he doesn't have to buy a console.

I was never able to get it to work. Had to mess with a bunch of settings in my modem and it is super flaky. When it worked, it was great. This could be user error but I am too tired to "make it work".

I almost jumped on a G-cloud a few times on here. We have a steam deck, but the 1280x800 res just isnt great for most AAA games. I also have a gamesir G8, and even streaming to that smaller screen at high res is a better experience (but worse controls).

I use my G8 with a tablet now, but its 10 inches and a little heavy.

The Portal would be the greatest streaming and light ROM device you can buy. Too bad though!

Probably overkill but I recently bought a used Legion Go (original version) for $350 on FP MP. I often see them for around that range, mostly in (claimed) new condition. It has a higher resolution than the SD and also plenty of power. Heavy as sin though. Screen is amazing. Suspend / hibernation generally causes games to crash...which is my biggest annoyance compared to the SD. Windows is a huge selling point but also the Achilles heel.

So many options and they all have huge pluses and minuses.
