Got these last time. The batteries don't seem to hold a charge very long.

Eh, I think it really depends on what you're powering. If it's something with a pretty heavy battery drain, tossing the batteries on the charger overnight so they're ready for the next day isn't really that big of a deal.Take an Xbox controller for example. It draws around ~80 mAh during normal gameplay. You don't add the two 2,800 mAh batteries together; you calculate from the individual 2,800 mAh rating. So 2,800/80 = 35 hours. Realistically, you should be getting around 35 hours of gameplay per charge.If you play Xbox 4 hours a day, and cheap disposable batteries are around 33¢ each, you'd go through roughly 42 pairs a year, or about $28. The rechargeable setup costs $10 up front, and the electricity cost to charge them is basically negligible.Obviously, that assumes they actually deliver the rated 2,800 mAh. And even if they don't "hold a charge well," you're probably still breaking even within a year. And that's not even factoring in AAA batteries.I always like looking at these kinds of deals from a long-term cost-saving perspective just for fun. The problem is batteries somehow have a magical ability to disappear 😂. So realistically, are you going to see some huge overall cost savings? Probably not. But you're also keeping a ton of disposable batteries out of the trash every year, so I'd call that a win.
